Self efficacy and Processing of change After Abstention Following a Smoking cessation program

Abstract
Purpose: This study was done to analyse self efficacy and processing of change after abstention following a smoking cessation program.

Method: The research design was set up by one group pre-post experimental design. The participants were 28 smokers that participated in smoking cessation program for 8weeks.

Result: There were significant increases in self efficacy and processing of change after the abstention smoking. Male were significant self efficacy and processing of change, but female were no significant. In analyse difference value before between after by sex, self efficacy and behavioral process were no significant, but experimental process were significant. There were significant increases in self efficacy regardless of starting age of smoking (p£¼0.05), processing of change of smoker starting after 18years of age were significan(p£¼0.05). There were no statistically significant self efficacy and processing of change in analyse difference value before between after according to starting age of smoking.

Conclusion: The results suggest that further study need on the effect factors of smoking cessation and developed effective smoking cessation program considered self efficacy and processing of change.
